Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Welcome to Indianapolis in Indiana. This week the Road to Emmaus brings us to the National Eucharistic Congress. Five days. Over 50,000 pilgrims. All with one aim: to grow more deeply in love with Jesus Christ truly present in the Holy Eucharist and then to share that love with our brothers and sisters across our beloved country. The healing of our nation starts here. It begins – and ends – in Jesus Christ, our Eucharistic Lord. Amen.
This is our penultimate On the Road to Emmaus with, me, Bishop Boyea. This week’s installment isn’t about me, however. It’s about the wonderful Eucharistic Congress pilgrims from the Diocese of Lansing. These are men, women and children drawn from parishes across our ten-county diocese who each have felt compelled to make the 500-mile round trip to be here in Indianapolis this week. Why? Watch their inspiring story to find out.
