Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Joanne Fedewa, Sister of the Living Word, who died February 13, 2024. She was 93 years old. May she rest in peace.
Originally from Westphalia, MI, Sister Joanne was Pastoral Coordinator of Christ the King Parish in Flint from 1989 to 2009 and led the building of the parish’s new church and hall during that time. They were dedicated in 2002.
Sister Joanne is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Thelen) Fedewa, her sisters, Bernita (Alex) Vitek, Mary (Joseph) Smith, Odelia (Gerald) Thelen, Margaret (Clair) Thelen, Catherine (John) Van Acker, and her brothers, Leo (Alberta) Fedewa, Msgr. Sylvester Fedewa, James Fedewa and Joseph Fedewa.
She is survived by her brother, Fr. Matt Fedewa, her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (James) Fedewa and Janice (Joseph) Fedewa, many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her Sisters and Associates of the Living Word, and many dear friends.
The exequies for Sister Joanne are as follows: Visitation will take place Saturday February 17, 2024 from 10:30 am until Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30am. at St. Thomas Villanova Church 1201 E. Anderson Dr. Palatine, IL. 60074. The Mass will be livestreamed via the parish website: https://www.stov.org/
