The Ordination Mass for ten men to the Diaconate that took place at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in East Lansing on Saturday, May 13. The atmosphere in the church was filled with joy and excitement as the congregation celebrated this special occasion. The Most Reverend Earl Boyea led the ceremony and offered a prayer of blessings, "May God who has begun a good work in you, bring it to fulfillment!" It was a heartwarming sight to see the ten men receive their ordination and take on their new roles as deacons in the Catholic Church. The newly ordained deacons include Deacon Jasen Wright from St Joseph in Howell, Deacon David Taccolini from St. Thomas the Apostle in Ann Arbor, Deacon Ray Rzepecki from St Gerard in Lansing, Deacon Eric Pogrmich from St Joseph in Howell, Deacon John Goff from St. Joseph in Dexter, Deacon Bill Kenney from St. Agnes in Fowlerville, and Deacon Jim Collom from St. Martha in Okemos. Additionally, we congratulate our seminarians, Deacon Joshua Fons from Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor and Deacon Riley O'Shea from St. Michaels in Grand Ledge, who were ordained to the transitional diaconate. It was truly a remarkable event.
