Tomorrow, October 6, will see the Diocese of Lansing Catholic Lawyers Guild gather for the 35th Annual Red Mass at Saint Mary Cathedral.
The Red Mass invokes Almighty God’s blessings and guidance in the administration of justice under the power of the Holy Spirit. It is a tradition that dates back many centuries to Rome, Paris and London. The name comes from the color of the vestments worn by the celebrants and the color of fire, a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Tomorrow’s Mass will begin at 5.15pm at Saint Mary Cathedral in Lansing. The principal celebrant is Bishop Earl Boyea. Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Red Mass will also be live-streamed on the Facebook and YouTube page of the Diocese of Lansing for those who would rather not attend in person.
