Watch: Week 39 | On the Road to Emmaus w/ Bishop Boyea | Inspiring story | From "Preacher's Kid" to Catholic Convert

Friday, March 8, 2024

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

This week On the Road to Emmaus, we begin meet some of those who are about to join us on the journey for the first time. Later this month hundreds of men, women and children will be received into the Catholic Church in parishes all across the Diocese of Lansing. Praise God! At the Easter Vigil each of those new Catholics will receive Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist for the first time ever.

One such convert is Mary Kuhl from Jackson. Mary is the daughter of a protestant minister or, as she describes it, a "P.K." or "preacher's kid". So why is she becoming Catholic? Watch this short film as Mary explains the profound influence of her late husband's deep faith in the Holy Eucharist at daily Mass plus the impact of a powerful dream after his death whereupon he invited her to share in the Heavenly Banquet of which the Holy Eucharist is, of course, a foretaste. Enjoy the film!
