This week On the Road to Emmaus, Bishop Earl Boyea returns to the Orate fratres prayer of the Offertory at Holy Mass and gives us another way to help foster preparedness for the Holy Eucharist:
"Pray a spiritual communion three times a day – morning, noon and night – each day this week until you have memorized it."
As a text, Bishop Boyea proposes using the following prayer that comes from the 20th century founder of Opus Dei, Saint Josemaria Escriva. Let us pray:
I wish, Lord, to receive you with the purity, humility and devotion with which your most holy Mother received you, with the spirit and fervor of the saints. Amen.
Meanwhile, here's a short film, below, explaining this week's challenge.
