Welcome to Day 6 of Bishop Earl Boyea’s reflections on seven meals in people’s homes where Jesus Christ is present. Each encounter is recorded in the Gospel of Saint Luke. Today’s reflection? The Last Supper (Luke 22:15-20).
“My sisters and brothers, the lasting memorial meal, unlike the other dinners we have been discussing, was at Jesus’ invitation,” says Bishop Boyea.
“As Athanasius has written, ‘We eat of the Word of the Father, the Son, our Savior. We have the lintels of our hearts sealed with the blood of the new covenant’.”
