As a matter of urgency, please pray and fast for the seven justices of the Michigan Supreme Court who look set to decide upon the fate of proposed extreme pro-abortion constitutional amendment within the coming days.
Yesterday, August 31, Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers refused to certify the proposed “Reproductive Freedom for All” amendment to Michigan’s constitution after it was highlighted the text of the pro-abortion ballot petition contains 60 typos thus, it was argued, potentially inserting "gibberish" into the state constitution. The final vote on the board was 2-2. Now the matter looks set to go before the Michigan Supreme Court for final adjudication on or before Friday, September 9.
Every day between now and that Supreme Court decision, please pray the following prayer for our seven Supreme Court justices while also offering up mortifications for them, especially fasting on a Friday. Let us pray:
Almighty ever-living God,
you bestow the gift of life
as you form each of us in our mother’s womb.
Look on our nation, state, and community
and awaken in every heart
reverence for life.
Protect our state from unjust laws.
In your Name, bring to defeat
every attack against the sacredness of life.
Safeguard the rights of parents,
whom you have entrusted
with the care and formation of their children.
Help all who believe in Jesus
to proclaim the Gospel of Life to their neighbors.
Dispel every anxiety and fear.
Strengthen the bond between parents and their unborn child.
May mothers and fathers accept and nurture the gift of life
made in your image and likeness.
In your mercy, move the hearts of the justices of the Michigan Supreme Court
to reject the ballot initiative which would confuse our laws
and harm the unborn.
Bring our state closer to the day when every human being
is protected in law and welcomed in life.
