Thank you to the good folk at Saint Thomas More Academy in Burton for sending us these great photographs capturing the visit of Bishop Earl Boyea to celebrate the school’s 35th anniversary, October 13. Ad multos annos!
“We are grateful to celebrate 35 years of witnessing the many wonderful things our God has done and the numerous lives he has touched through our school,” said Principal Doug Weisbrod.
“With faith in the One who gave his life for us, and the Church he has established to guide us, strengthen us, and protect us, we have great hope of many more years of serving parents who strive to raise their children to be saints, not just for themselves, but for a world in great need of the light and salt Christ calls and empowers them to be.”
Saint Thomas More Academy is an independent Catholic school which is recognized and approved by the Diocese of Lansing. The school currently has 95 students grades K-12.
Founded in 1989 upon a love for the Church and Her teachings, Saint Thomas More Academy aims to help students to incorporate faith into their studies and daily lives. It aspires to form students as future leaders who are well rounded spiritually, humanly, and academically.
“Saint Thomas More Academy is a place where everyone learns the Roman Catholic faith, from students to teachers and administrators, we grow in our knowledge, our love, and our service to the Lord,” said parent, Adam Wilberding.
“The formation of the heart and the mind are given top priority. This school reinforces what is taught in our home and parish, and we love you for it. The degree of spiritual care in this area has been faithfully consistent for 35 years. Remember Jesus' words: ‘If you love Me, keep My commandments’.”
