Watch: Hillsdale Convert Stories #1 | Carly Moran

If you only watch one thing today, do consider watching this. It’s pretty powerful. This is a short film featuring 19-year-old Carly Moran, a sophomore at Hillsdale College and one of 23 converts who will be received into the Catholic Church at this weekend’s Easter Vigil at the local parish of Saint Anthony of Padua.

Carly is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics with a minor in Journalism. In this film she explains how her studies over the past few years have led her the Church.

“If you had told me at 16-years-old that I was going to be Catholic, I probably would have laughed at you but here we are, three years later,” says Carly who hails from Folsom in California.

“As a student at Hillsdale College, where I'm at, there is a firm belief in following ‘the permanent things’ and the permanent things in church history made me realize I had to become Catholic. Not my choice, but God's.”

“I'm very excited about what is to come. I'm taking it one day at a time. And I think one of the best things I have heard is that I don't have to be perfect and I think that is one of the things I admire about Catholicism in the first place. It recognizes that we are human but it calls us to be saints.”

Saint Anthony of Padua, pray for her.

Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for her.

Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for her.
