Read: Annual Knights of Columbus Family Night for Vocations | Friday 13 August

Here are some great images capturing the Annual Knights of Columbus Family Night for Vocations at Jackson Field, home to the Lansing Lugnuts baseball team, on Friday 13 August.

“It was a great blessing to be able to have the Vocations Night at the Lansing Lugnuts this year, after we were not able to have the event last year due to the coronavirus,” said Father John Whitlock, Seminarian Director for the Diocese of Lansing, 16 August.

“It is always so encouraging to see our seminarians, religious sisters, and parishioners from all over the diocese gathered together for an evening of fun and fellowship. The weather was perfect and the Lugnuts pulled off a win!”

The annual vocations event has been organized by the Knights of Columbus since 1999. As ever, it proved popular with both families and parishes. There to meet and greet them was Bishop Earl Boyea of Lansing as well as diocesan priests and seminarians along with female religious including the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist; the Sisters of Mercy of Alma; and the Servants of God’s Love.

“I am particularly grateful to the Knights of Columbus for once again coordinating this event, and in particular, to Mr. Cliff Farr for his tireless leadership. Let us continue to pray for our young people to respond to the call of God in their lives to the priesthood, religious life, and holy marriage and family life!

The evening’s baseball concluded with a tight 7-6 victory for the Lansing Lugnuts over the Dayton Dragons followed by a celebratory firework display.
