On April 20, Bishop Earl Boyea concelebrated a confirmation Mass with Rev. Steven Anderson and Deacon Kenneth Preiss of Holy Redeemer Parish, Burton, and Deacon David Jansen, St Pius X Parish, Flint. Bishop Boyea thanked those who attended and also the combined choirs of Holy Redeemer and St Pius X, under the direction of Dan Schmitt and Diane Pierce, who were responsible for the beautiful music. The Mass was followed with a dinner for those newly confirmed, their families and sponsors in the parish’s Family Life Center.On April 24, at St Mary Cathedral, Bishop Earl Boyea concelebrated a confirmation Mass with pastors: Msgr. Bernard Reilly, St Mary Cathedral; Rev. Fred Thelen, Cristo Rey; Rev. John Byers, Immaculate Heart of Mary; and Rev. William Lugger, St Casimir. There were 58 candidates confirmed from these Lansing parishes with the second reading proclaimed in Spanish.
