St. Louis Center receives $10,000 grant

St. Louis Center is addressing the specialized needs of its aging residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities through its Legacy Project launched in 2010.  Since then, the leadership team of the United Methodist Retirement Communities (UMRC) has provided St. Louis Center advice and support regarding the development of the St. Louis Guanella Village project. As a result of this relationship and the UMRC Foundation’s commitment to the provision of dignified care for older adults of all abilities, St. Louis Center received a capacity building grant of $10,000 from the UMRC Foundation on Dec. 8. These funds will help St. Louis Center refine the St. Louis Guanella Village housing plan.St. Louis Center is a residential care facility for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities located five miles west of Chelsea in Sylvan Twp. and operated by the Servants of Charity.
