When Pope Francis announced the Year of Consecrated Life in 2014, he told those in consecrated life that the beauty of consecration is joy. “God says to us you are important to me, I love you, I am counting on you.” Knowing that, who cannot experience joy! Our lives have been filled with many surprises, one by one, day by day. We rejoice in the good times and have been challenged by the more difficult times. We live a daily pilgrimage of joyful transformation and consolation. On Sunday, October 4, many of those in religious life - including members of the Grand Rapids Dominican sisters, Adrian Dominican sisters, Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist, Servants of God's Love and Consecrated Virgins - gathered around the table of the Eucharist at St Mary Magdalen, Brighton, to be transformed once again, enabling them to go forth and bring God’s consolation to all.
Thanks to Father David Howell, pastor of St Mary Magdalen Parish, and all those who helped to make this celebration possible.
