Bishop Earl Boyea has appointed Richard Budd to serve as the director of the diocesan office of Marriage and Family Life. Richard, originally from Bay City, has a bachelor’s degree from Magdalen College in New Hampshire, an M.T.S. in Marriage and Family Theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute in Washington, D.C., and is completing a master’s degree in biblical and moral theology from Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit.
Richard has experience as a Catholic high school teacher, a campus minister, a director of religious education, a residential instructor for the developmentally disabled, leading RCIA and as a public speaker on various family ministry topics. He began work in the diocesan Central Service Department of Vocations on July 13.
