Sacred Heart Church's evening of music

Sacred Heart Church in Hudson hosted an “Evening of Music.” Douglas Spangler played the piano while the school children sang I’m in the Lord’s Army.Spangler is the liturgical minister for the school children. He is a music composer and had the children sing Come, Christians, Join to Sing for which he had written a verse. Spangler works with the Sacred Heart choristers and plays the piano for weekly Mass.
He said, “Each week for the closing hymn we have a fun children’s song. My goal is to work with the kids so they will sing whether in the pews or in the choir.” Spangler has the school children singing the responsorial hymn instead of just reciting it. He shared, “What we sing, we believe.”
Nancy Herr played the piano and Angie Monahan played the flute for several songs, including Adagio. Herr played while the cantors sang, O God, You Search Me.  Bill Koshelnyk sang I Believe and Jennifer Ball ended the performance with Let There Be Peace on Earth.
