Sisters of Mercy of Alma announce expansion of services

Sister Mary Sarah Macht, Sacred Heart administrator of Sacred Heart Mercy Healthcare Center in Alma announced an expansion of services in the mission of comprehensive health-care to the Alma community and the greater Gratiot and surrounding counties. Four new professional sisters have been added to the staff ensuring an expanded comprehensive health-care service to the mid-Michigan area.Sister Maria Lin Pacold, RSM, MD, psychiatrist, and Sister Mary Patrice Ahearn, Psy.D, clinical psychologist, will continue the mental health services provided in the past and allow the expansion of these services beginning in September.Sister Mary Sarah Macht, RSM, MSN, FNP-BC, is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree in nursing and a certificate in health policy. She will be serving as the clinic administrator. Sister Mary Gretchen Hoffman, RSM, MD, will join Sister Jane Firestone, RSM, MD, and Sister Mary Rachel Lebrun, RSM, MD, in the internal medicine practice of the clinic in September upon the completion of her residency at the University of Tennessee.Sister Mary Noel Herman, RSM, MPT, joined the Sacred Heart staff in 2013 and is developing onsite physical therapy services.
For many years, Sister Marysia Weber, RSM, DO, has provided dedicated care to the Alma community and Gratiot County. She will be reassigned as superior to the Sisters of Sacred Heart’s local convent in St. Louis. She will continue to be available to provide consultation, lectures and workshops.
With these many changes, the sisters will continue their efforts to build relationships that assist in collaboration and transitions of care as they grow in developing the patient centered medical home model of care.
