Stewardship is a journey. Each of us is invited to reflect on how we are using the gifts God has entrusted to us — our time, our talents, and our treasures — for His glory and the good of His Church. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
In a culture often focused on accumulating more, stewardship calls us to take the road less traveled — to see all that we have as a gift from God, to use wisely and generously in service of others. This is the vision behind the Stewardship for Saints and Scholars campaign, an effort across the Diocese of Lansing to strengthen Catholic education and parish life for generations to come.
At the heart of the campaign are four key priorities:
* On-Mission: Attract, form, train, and retain excellent and faithful teachers and administrators who are dedicated not only to education but also to forming disciples.
* Affordable: Substantially expand financial assistance so more families can choose Catholic education for their children without being burdened by cost.
* Accessible: Provide stronger support for children with special needs, while also improving and updating facilities at the diocese’s four regional high schools to meet today’s educational demands.
* Local Initiatives: Invest in parish school programs, religious education, faith formation, homeschool initiatives, and other pressing local needs that strengthen parish life and family faith.
Each of these priorities flows from the same conviction: that Catholic education and formation are vital to the mission of the Church. By supporting this campaign, parishioners have the opportunity to ensure that every child, every family, and every parish has access to the tools needed to grow in faith.
One person can make a difference. Where are you on the journey of stewardship? As the campaign embarks on its final phase, we invite every parishioner to prayerfully consider joining in this effort. Together, we can ensure that Catholic schools remain a source of faith, formation, and hope for generations to come.
