Watch: On the Path to the Priesthood | Ryan Ferrigan

Diocese of Lansing seminarian, Ryan Ferrigan, had never considered pursuing a priestly vocation until he first attended the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday in 2017.

“There was something about that Mass: Whether it was the getting to hear in the readings about the gift of the Priesthood, and also the gift of the Eucharist, both priceless gifts given to us by our Lord right before his death,” recalls 23-year-old Ryan who is a parishioner at Saint Martha in Okemos.

"It was either that or it was the joy in all of the priests who were there, who had just renewed their priestly promises earlier that day at the Chrism Mass, or a combination of all of those factors.”

Spool on five years and Ryan is now a studying at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit on his path, Deo volente, to the sacred priesthood. Please keep Ryan, and all the Diocese of Lansing seminarians, in your prayers in the months and years to come. Saint Charles Borromeo, patron of seminarians, pray for him.
