Watch: My Sisterhood Story | Sister Mary Dominic OP

Please pray for Sister Mary Dominic OP who recently made her final vows with the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor. Sister Mary Dominic hails from a small town in southern Minnesota where she grew up as the eldest of five children within a Catholic family.

“I think it gave me such a stable and solid beginning and just seeing the faith of my parents, especially as they grew in their faith as I was getting older, watching them fall more in love with the Lord and serving his Church,” says Sister Mary Dominic who made her final profession on July 21, 2021, at Christ the King Church in Ann Arbor.

This happy upbringing led Sister Mary Dominic to desire to imitate the life and example of her own mother in becoming a wife and a mom. That began to change, however, as she entered into a deeper prayer life and began “to really know Jesus Christ and fall in love with him.”

“That was a journey, for sure,” says Sister Mary Dominic, “But it's so beautiful how the Lord can take where we are, and take those desires that we have, and transform them. So, I wanted to be a wife and a mother and I am a bride of Christ and a spiritual Mother. He took those good desires that I had and fulfilled them in a way that I never could have imagined.”
