Today is the Fourth Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday, a day dedicated to praying for a greater abundance of vocations to the Holy Priesthood.
“In the Gospel of Luke Chapter 10, Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Did you catch that? Pray earnestly!” said Fr. John Whitlock, Director of Seminarians for the Diocese of Lansing, May 3.
“Are you praying earnestly for your shepherds, and for more men to answer the call of the Good Shepherd – to lay down their lives for you, in imitation of Him? If not, today is a perfect day to start!”
By the grace of God, the Diocese of Lansing looks set to be blessed this year with the largest number of new seminarians for over a decade. Deo gratias! Thank you for your prayers.
