The Catholic Church has always taught that faith and science are wholly compatible with each other and, indeed, that both reveal to us the goodness, truth, and beauty of God. And yet, studies suggest that most young Catholics who lapse from the practice of their faith, do so due to an assumed contradiction between faith and science. Watch this short film to witness one initiative that is attempting correct that misapprehension.
It features this month's seminar on faith and science where approximately 50 middle-school teachers from across the Diocese of Lansing gathered at the Saint Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt, June 15 - 20, in order to learn how best to integrate faith and science in the Catholic classroom. The seminar was co-hosted by the Diocese of Lansing and the Science and Religion Initiative of the McGrath Institute for Church Life, Notre Dame University.
