Stained-glass windows installed in Lansing Catholic High School’s new chapel

The final four stained-glass windows were installed in Lansing Catholic High School’s new St. John Paul the Great Chapel on April 28. Richard Hanley, owner and lead artist of Omnibus Studios in New Era, Mich., led a team of artists to complete the 19 windows for the chapel.
Hundreds of hours of work went into the design and construction of the stained-glass windows. The glass was imported from around the world, each piece carefully selected and intricately custom painted, and cut and assembled by the artists.

Richard Hanley studied as an apprentice under an acclaimed stained-glass artist and mosaicist, the late Andrew Maglia who originated from Palermo, Sicily. Under Maglia’s professional training, Richard Hanley’s Omnibus Studios, Inc. climbed quickly to prominence in the stained-glass field. Because of this early training, Omnibus Studio’s designers and artisans are providing some of the finest liturgical stained glass available today.
Tom Maloney, president of Lansing Catholic High School, stated “Lansing Catholic High School is blessed to have such beautiful stained-glass windows to inspire our students as they gather for prayer in our new St. John Paul the Great Chapel. We are so grateful for Richard Hanley and his team of artists at Omnibus Studios for their wonderful craftsmanship and intricate designs. The stained-glass windows are truly masterpieces.”
