St. Patrick's Day box lunches

Catholic Charities, Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties sold St. Patrick’s Day box lunches. They included Corn Beef and Swiss sandwiches, Cole Slaw, chips and cookie. More than 1,600 box lunches were sold.Sue Lewis, executive director, shared, “The project helps Catholic Charities reach out to the community. We connected with 72 businesses and we raised $5,000.”
Volunteers filled the boxes Mar. 1, working four hour shifts, at St. Joseph Social Center in Jackson. On the morning of Mar. 2, other volunteers arrived to deliver orders of 10 or more boxes. Chuck Camp, Queen of the Miraculous Medal parishioner and a driver for RSVP for 5 years, helped deliver the box lunches. Amada Hutchings, president at Peak Manufacturing said they had purchased 34 box lunches. Peak has an employee luncheon every month and thought the box lunches would be prefect for this. Bridget Horrigan, office manager at Performance Automotive and a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist, said that this was the first time the company had ordered the box lunches, which were very tasty.
