St. Joseph Parish celebrates 125th anniversary

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ypsilanti celebrated its 125th anniversary on June 28 with a Mass celebrated by Bishop emeritus Carl Mengeling. The parish, which was founded in 1890, is known as the “little cathedral in the pines.”Before Mass, Father Edward Ertzbischoff, pastor of St. Joseph, said, “The people are my highlight. They are the spirit of cooperation. They are a good sense of what the Church’s mission is, and there is a sense of calm and peace.”
