St. Joseph, Adrian 150th anniversary

St. Joseph Parish held a yearlong celebration of its 150th anniversary beginning with a pig roast, which included many fun activities enjoyed by everyone. Later, a parish mission with Dr. Robert Fastiggi, Dawn Hausman and Bishop Emeritus Carl Mengeling presented different facets of faith encouraging people to hand-on their faith to future generations. Msgr. George Michalek, archivist for the Diocese of Lansing shared his expertise of the German presence and faith from Detroit to St. Joseph parish in Lenawee County.A 150th gala party celebrating the past, present and future of the parish culminated with an anniversary Mass on Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. by Bishop Earl Boyea. The St. Joseph Parish community thanked God for what he has accomplished in their parish and prayed for the grace to carry on God’s work for the next 150 years.
