Here are some great photographs from today’s Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit to mark the new school year held at Saint Mary Cathedral in Lansing, September 18. In attendance were nearly 500 students, staff and clergy across the Diocese of Lansing. The principal celebrant was Bishop Earl Boyea. Veni, Sancte Spiritus! Come, Holy Spirit!
“What a wonderful and fitting to start the new school year,” said Tom Maloney, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Lansing.
“All that we do in our schools begins with prayer, begins with asking the Holy Spirit to inspire our hearts and infuse our souls with divine wisdom and love as we strive to help our students to grow in knowledge and virtue, to become the scholars and saints they are called to be.”
The Diocese of Lansing contains 36 Catholic schools spread across 10 counties including four regional high schools. In total, diocesan schools educate over 8,000 students. To find out more, go to: https://dolcatholicschools.org/
