
The Most Reverend Earl Boyea, Bishop of Lansing, has named Mr. Stephen Rajzer of Jackson, MI, pictured, as the new President of Lumen Christi Catholic School, Jackson, and Executive Director of Jackson Catholic Schools, effective July 7, 2025. Commenting on his appointment, Stephen said:
“As a lifelong Catholic and active member of the Jackson community I am honored and excited to be named the next President of Lumen Christi and Executive Director of Jackson Catholic Schools. I look forward to joining the dedicated team, across all four schools, working tirelessly to educate the next generation with our shared Catholic values, and to fulfill our mission to form each student into saints.”
As President of Lumen Christi Catholic School, Stephen Rajzer will have general charge and control of all the school’s personnel, finances, academics, advancement and fundraising, recruitment and admissions, business affairs, external affairs and community relations, and school related facilities.
Jackson Catholic Schools is a system of four schools, under the leadership of the Bishop of the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan, through the guidance of the diocesan Superintendent of Catholic Schools. There are three parochial elementary schools: Queen of the Miraculous Medal, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Mary Star of the Sea. All three are grades pre-K-6. In addition, there is a Diocesan school, Lumen Christi Catholic School, grades 7-12. The current student population of Jackson Catholic Schools is approximately 1,000 students.

I’m confident that Stephen Rajzer has the vision and ability to sustain and build on the momentum achieved through the dedication of the current administrative team and the governing boards of Jackson Catholic Schools – and assure him of my prayers as he begins this new journey.”
Stephen Rajzer has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Michigan State University, and a Master of Public Administration from DePaul University in Chicago.
Professionally, Stephen has worked for both the Federal and State legislatures for nearly 15 years. He worked as a District Director for U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg and presently occupies the post of Director of Strategy for the Office of the Michigan Senate Republican Leader.
He has been active in the Jackson community serving on various governing boards. Stephen spent seven years on the Region II Area Agency on Aging (now known as WellWise) Board of Directors and served three years as Board Chair. He is in his second year as President of the Jackson District Library Board of Trustees. Stephen has been on the library Board since 2019.
Stephen and his wife, Billie, and two children are parishioners of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Jackson. Both children attend Jackson Catholic Schools.
