Michigan’s substance use disorder conference

Sept. 16, James Schepper, Ph.D. represented Livingston County Catholic Charities as well as Livingston County specifically at the 14th annual Michigan Substance Use Disorder Conference. Dr. Schepper presented a breakout session on “Optimizing the Team through Supervision” and more than 100 supervisors from various agencies from across Michigan attended the training session. The training session was designed to: 1) help supervisors understand the development and unique differences between their staff; 2) help supervisors train staff to understand the unique differences between each other; and 3) help supervisors encourage a team approach when working with their clientele. The session was a wonderful success and allowed supervisors to gain tools for their profession, as well as elusive continuing education credits needed for supervisors.
