LAFCU sponsors St. Vincent Catholic Charities “Spring Into Giving” campaign

LAFCU will continue to serve as the title sponsor for St. Vincent Catholic Charities (STVCC) fourth annual Spring Into Giving campaign. The household needs drive will run from April 1 to April 30 with a focus on collecting items that will assist children and families in need.

“We are very excited to work with LAFCU for the second year in a row,” STVCC CEO Andrea Seyka says. “It means a lot to partner with a local business that believes so strongly in bettering our community.”

LAFCU will be playing a prominent role in the campaign with seven of its nine branches serving as collection sites for donations including Charlotte, Corunna, DeWitt, Eaton Rapids, Owosso, South Lansing and West Lansing.

“This partnership allows LAFCU to use its resources for the betterment of those in need in our community and to support the good work of St. Vincent Catholic Charities,” says Kelli A. Ellsworth Etchison, LAFCU senior vice president of marketing. “We are honored to participate in the Spring Into Giving campaign, especially as it directly aligns with LAFCU’s mission of ‘people helping people.’”

The largest number of families needing household items are from STVCC’s refugee resettlement program. Nearly 1,000 refugees living in Lansing receive health, education and employment services from STVCC. Donations will help sustain the agency’s ability to assist refugees already in Lansing and those who will be resettled in the future.

The most needed items include: alarm clocks; bed sheets/twin and double sizes; blanket and towel sets; cleaning supplies and tools (no bleach products); dishes, bowls and plates (please no storage containers); laundry and dish soap; paper towel and toilet paper; and pots and pans.

These can be gently used or gift cards from local stores where these items may be purchased will be accepted. Financial donations also are encouraged and can be made throughout the month of April. In addition to LAFCU branches, donations can be dropped off at STVCC’s Service Center, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Two Men and a Truck will be providing donation boxes that will be placed at LAFCU locations.
