Jackson County’s 40 days of life

From Sept. 25 to Nov. 3, 400 people from 30 different churches stood in front of the Planned Parenthood building to silently protest the abortion of 3,400 babies a day. Beth Thorrez and Eileen Page from Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church joined Sarah Thiede form New Horizons Church when she integrated the 40 Days of Life event for Jackson County. The movement started in Texas and has spread to 306 different cities. In the larger cities, people are praying 24 hours a day and, in the smaller cities, they are praying for 12 hours. During the 40 days of prayer and fasting, those involved hope to educate the local citizens.
Thorrez said, “We can all be together, we can learn from each other – as we suffer for those who silently suffer from abortion.”
During this period, many women asked for help instead of choosing an abortion. Hearts were changed by the prayers of strangers. Let your prayers be heard and save a life. By Jan Hoffbauer
