Invitation: Liturgical Formation for Eucharistic Revival Conference | Brighton | November 4, 2023

You are cordially invited to join Bishop Earl Boyea and an array of renowned national speakers for a day of liturgical formation on Saturday, November 4, at Saint Patrick parish in Brighton.

“There is a rule in the Christian life: Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi (cf. CCC 1124). In English that means 'the law of what is prayed is the law of what is believed is the law of what is lived',” explains Jeremy Priest, Director of the Office of Worship of the Diocese of Lansing and event organizer.

"Hence how we offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass informs what we believe about the Holy Eucharist which then shapes the way we do, or don’t, live as disciples of Jesus Christ, Our Eucharistic Lord."

"This one-day conference aims to help clergy, parish staff and all lay faithful to better approach the Mass and all the Sacraments as encounters with the Lord Himself."

"Our sense of the sacred and all our acts of reverence in the liturgy flow from this one fact: God has taken flesh in Jesus Christ and dwells among us! The more deeply we know this in our bones, the more we will all experience a renewed sense of the sacred across the Diocese of Lansing. In large part, our Eucharistic Revival starts here.” Speakers will include:

* Christopher Carstens, Director of the Office for Sacred Worship in the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin; a visiting faculty member at the Liturgical Institute at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois; editor of the Adoremus Bulletin; and one of the voices on The Liturgy Guys podcast.

* Dr. James Pauley, Professor of Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville and author of Liturgical Catechesis in the 21st Century: A School of Discipleship (LTP, 2017)and An Evangelizing Catechesis: Teaching from Your Encounter with Christ (Our Sunday Visitor, 2020)

* Adam Bartlett, Founder and CEO of Source & Summit, an organization devoted to the mission of placing the riches of the liturgy within reach of every parish
