Are you a young man or woman with a desire in your heart to lead others as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ and His Holy Church? If so, you are invited to attend the Diocese of Lansing’s Diocesan Youth Leadership Camp, June 22-27, 2015, at Saint Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt.
DYLC is a six-day camp that is focused on creating missionary disciples, by equipping young people with the tools and skills needed to go and make more disciples of Jesus Christ. Through sessions, activities and unique prayer experiences, DYLC trains those that come to go out and bring others to Jesus. A team made up of youth and adults, plan and present this weeklong camp.
DYLC teaches basic leadership skills in the context of discipleship like communications and small group dynamics; but also emphasizes the importance of building trust and emphasizing servant leadership. As an applicant you should:
• Be attending and participating in Holy Mass at least weekly
• Be active in your parish (participants should have attended at least one retreat experience)
• Demonstrate potential leadership skills
• Be able to contribute to and process small group situations.
• Currently be in high school. (That is, upcoming Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors and those graduating)
