Catechumens, candidates, pastors and staff of the parishes of the Diocese of Lansing filled St Mary Cathedral on Holy Thursday morning for the annual Chrism Mass.
Bishop Boyea blessed and consecrated the sacred oils - the oil of the sick, the oil of the catechumens and the holy chrism oil - used in parishes during the year.
During the Mass the priests of the diocese renewed the priestly promises made at the time of their ordination.
