Father Edmond Ertzbischoff, age 67, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. He was born March 11, 1949 in Highland Park, MI. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney Latin High School in Detroit in 1967 and then attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit where he graduated in 1971 with a BA Degree. In 1974 he graduated with a Master of Divinity from St. John Provincial Seminary in Plymouth and was ordained for Diocese of Lansing on May 1, 1976.
During his priesthood he served: St. Joseph, Owosso; St. Gerard, Lansing; St. Thomas the Apostle, Ann Arbor; St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn; St. John the Baptist, Ypsilanti, and St. Joseph, Ypsilanti.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Friday, October 7, St. Joseph Church, 9425 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti. Bishop Earl Boyea will preside. Friends may call at the church from 4-8p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary-Chalice ceremony at 7p.m., 12-8p.m. Thursday with a Scripture Service at 7p.m. and 10a.m. until time of service on Friday.
