Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee counties is proud to announce the opening Aug. 5 of the “Work Ready Room” to provide interview and work apparel, along with support and information for clients who are actively seeking employment. Through partnerships with area agencies including: the American Red Cross/Flint Chapter; Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan; University of Michigan/Flint School of Social Work; Christian Science Reading Room of the First Church of Christ Scientist; You’re Hired Specialized Career Services; Mott Community College Workforce and Career Development; Resource Genesee; and Genesee Health Systems – Catholic Charities’ Work Ready Room will serve to eliminate barriers and help clients navigate the path towards employment opportunities.The Work Ready Room also will be available to individuals referred to Catholic Charities by local social service agencies. In addition, a volunteer will staff the Work Ready Room Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment to help clients connect with local employment service agencies and training opportunities.
