Catholic Charities provides warmth for the winter

Center for Hope Warming Center opens its doors to the homeless in the community. The Warming Center is housed in the former St. Michael School/Schools of Choice building on 5th Ave. in Flint. Running through March 2016, the Warming Center will be open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Guests will receive a hot cup of coffee, meals and snacks, as well as the opportunity to watch TV, read books and magazines to pass the time; but most importantly, they will have a safe place to stay warm.Last winter, Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties welcomed more than 12,500 people into the Warming Center, including more than 200 children. If you would like to help Catholic Charities keep families warm this winter, please email astart@ccsgc.org for volunteer and donating opportunities.
