Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

St. Pius X Parish in Flint launched a new catechesis program called the “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd” at the beginning of the school year. It has been in existence for more than 50 years and began in Rome by Maria Montessori. The program is used by the school and the religious education students, ages three through first grade. The “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd,” which is approved by the diocese, encourages wonder as the child searches and learns who the Good Shepherd is and discovers the lost sheep. The picture shows a miniature altar, tabernacle, tabernacle table and other teaching aids made by parishioners Art Klein, Mark Danaho and Colleen Fitzgerald, which are used in the program.
