Nearly 700 teens and adults came together on Sunday, November 1, at the Lansing Center for our annual High School Jamboree. Our theme, “Every Piece is Important”, was spelled out in the scripture reference from 1 Corinthians 12:22, “Even those parts of the body that seem less important, are, in fact, indispensable.” This message rang out through our opening prayers, as each parish drew their name on a lego box that came together in our opening song as we built the household of faith. As the song played from the lego movie, with our own lyrics, will built the house on stage before their eyes. The day unfolded with Apex juggling and story telling our theme. Thirteen workshops later, we celebrated All Saints Day with Bishop Boyea, who communicated all our calls to holiness.
Everyone matters in this household, in this Church. We honored three award winners of the Friend of Youth award, and three winners of the Youth Leader award. These people give great witness on how each one of us contributes to spreading God’s word and helping to build up the Church. Adoration, our service center and funfest continued through the night before sending all home, renewed in our faith, continuing our ministries back home. It was an awesome day.
