"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one comes to the Father except by Me." John 14:6
Priests, Deacons, OCIA Directors, DREs, Catechists, and their team members are invited to the 2024 OCIA Formation Day where each parish will receive a copy of the Ritual Edition of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. As the General Directory for Catechesis (GDC) puts it, the “model for all catechesis is the baptismal catechumenate,” so this will be enlightening to all (GDC 59).

With the new translation of the OCIA out on November 1st, we’re afforded a wonderful opportunity to refresh our understanding of the rites and the process of Christian Initiation.
Dr. Bill Keimig and Dr. Scott Sollom, both from Franciscan University and consultants in the process of the new OCIA translation, will lead us through the new OCIA text, highlighting what’s distinct in the new translation and helping us renew our minds in the mind of the Church as we endeavor to bring people to the feet of Jesus, “for it is in the sacraments, especially in the Eucharist, that Christ Jesus works in fullness for the transformation of human beings” (CT 23).
When: November 9th, 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm
Where: St. Patrick’s in Brighton—Parish Life Center
Cost: $20/person
