My name is Dominic Schoenle. I grew up as the youngest of six kids and attended Christ the King in Ann Arbor. Throughout my years of schooling, priesthood entered my thoughts every once and a while, but I never seriously considered it. During my senior year, while I was on a retreat, a priest encouraged me to discern priesthood. I began frequenting adoration and Mass, and asked Jesus to give me a desire for priesthood, if that was what He was calling me to. To my surprise I began to get really joyful whenever the thought of seminary came up, and eventually made the decision to enter the seminary. While I still do not know if I am called to be a priest, I am confident that I am where God wants me and that He is in control. I hope to encourage guys my age to grow in your relationship with God. Be sorry for your sins most of all because they offend God who is most deserving of our love. See prayer as a conversation with Jesus and do it several times a day, in adoration whenever possible. The closer you grow toward God, the more He will reveal the mission He has made you for.
