Special assistant to the bishop serves the diocese in several ways:

1. As collaborator with the Diocesan Pastoral Council, to serve as a catalyst and resource to parishes, regions, vicariates and the diocese in the implementation of the seven goals of the diocesan pastoral plan.

2. The diocesan office charged to oversee the implementation of Planning Tomorrow's Churches. Data from parishes will be collected annually through an on-line input process.

3. A resource to parish pastoral councils (see Parish Councils and Commissions Guidelines).

4. Assists the diocese in collecting, compiling and analyzing data for various diocesan entities.
