Continuing Adult Faith Formation Opportunities

During the VOICES process, many of you asked about the opportunity to cafecontinue your faith formation. Goal 3 of our diocesan pastoral plan commits to "creating comprehensive continuing adult education and formation opportunities utilizing a wide range of adult learning styles". In response to this goal, we are compiling adult faith formation opportunities within the Diocese of Lansing and in our neighboring dioceses. We have attempted to categorize the offerings in order to provide a faster search.

The contact for the updating of this calendar is: Michael D. Diebold, Director of Communications.

Join our Couple Prayer Series
Saturday evenings during Lent
February 13-March 20
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
St. Joseph Church, St. Johns

The Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series for engaged or married couples is a six-week, one-evening-per-week experience in shared faith where couples can safely and peacefully learn how to pray together. St. Joseph parish will host the series led by facilitators Jeff and Kathy Thomas from Church of the Holy Spirit, Highland, MI.

What some couples who attended this Series want to tell you about it…

“Nothing we’ve ever done has made the difference this has made in our lives. It’s tremendous.”

“The examples of how to pray are priceless. I would never have known where to start on my own.”

“I got closer to my wife, to God, to Jesus.”

“We are so much closer now that we pray together.”

“My wife and I prayed together for the first time in 27 years of marriage because of this series.”

“I really came because my wife asked me to, and I admit it was with reluctance. But by the sixth week
I felt closer to God and my wife and kids than I ever have before.”

“Personalizing scripture was life-altering. For the first time, scripture is alive to me.”

“When we prayed together in just the second week of the series, I felt like, for the first time in 47 years
of being married, our souls were together.”
