A.D.A.M. (Another Day, Another Memory)

A non-profit organization in Jackson supporting grieving parents and children.

Genesys Health System


  • Bereavement Support Group: Sponsored by Genesys Hospice. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month and are open to the public.
  • Grief Recovery: Sponsored by Genesys Hospice. A five week series to assist individuals coping with grief. For more information, call 810-762-3875.
  • HOPING (Helping Other Parents in Normal Grief): Genesys Regional Medical Center. Monthly meetings for parents of stillborns. For more information, call 810-606-5895.

Catholic Charities of Shiawasee and Genesee Counties


  • Survivors of Suicide Group: A support group for people who have experienced the loss of a loved one through suicide. Meets the first and third Thursday from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Individual Counseling provided by master’s level counselors. Sliding fee scale. Call to make an appointment.

Community Home Health and Hospice


  • Grief Support Group: An on-going support group for individuals one who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death. Meets the third Tuesday of each month from 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. in its conference room at 2360 Stone Bridge in Flint.
  • Healing Hearts Camp: Assists children ages 6-14 in coping with the death of a loved one. Call 810-733-7250 for information.
  • Caregiver Support Group: Individuals who are providing care to a chronically or terminally ill family member/loved one are invited to attend. Meets the fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at 2360 Stone Bridge in Flint.

Compassionate Friends


  • Monthly support group for parents who have experienced the death of a child.

Dryer Funeral Home


  • Grief Support Group: Meets 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Holly Presbyterian Church, 207 E. Maple, Holly.
  • Group for children. Requires referral from a funeral director. Meets Tuesdays 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at 601 S. Saginaw St., Flint.

Hurley Hospice Bereavement Services


  • HOPING (Helping Other Parents in Normal Grief): Support group for parents who have lost an infant through miscarriage, stillborn or illness. On-going group, walk-in basis, second and fourth Wednesdays from 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
  • Children’s Grief Groups:  Ages 6-11 years. Held within school systems and Hospice office by referral.
  • Teen Grief Groups:  By referral for ages 12-15 years.

Jennings-Lyons Chapel


  • Grief Support Group: Meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Care Center, 520 W. Main St., Owosso. Provides individual grief counseling free of charge. Call for an appointment.

McLaren Hospice Service


  • New Tomorrows: Flint Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in VNA Office's conference room, 2335 S. Linden Rd., Flint. Lapeer Group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at McLaren Hospice Service, 237 Davis Lake Rd., Lapeer.
  • Children’s Grieving Experience: A three day camp experience for children from kindergarten through grade 7. Call 1-800-206-4806 for registration.

Memorial Healthcare Center


  • Grief Support Group for Adults: Meets the second Tuesday of the month from 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at 1480 North M-52, Owosso, in conference room B.
  • Grief Support Group for Children: Meets the second Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at 1480 North M-52, Owosso, in the dining room.

Nelson House Funeral Homes


  • Provides grief support counseling in Owosso. Call for dates and times.

Pathway Community Church


  • Grief Support Group: Meets 1 p.m. on Mondays in the back of Sorrentos Restaurant, G-6395 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing.

Swartz Funeral Home


  • Grief Support Group: Meets at the funeral home the last Thursday of the month (except December) at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Call 810-234-8673 for information.  Provides videos and booklets to help loved ones work through grief.
    Funeral Homes are very sensitive to individuals grieving the loss of a family member/loved one and generously provide a list of available resources.
