Ministry Positions in the Diocese of Lansing

Musician  Assistant

St. Pius X Catholic Parish in Flint, Michigan is looking for an accomplished pianist to accompany our wonderful, active and fun loving choir. Practices are held Thursday evenings, and the choir sings at the 9:30 A.M. Mass on Sundays. The position also requires playing at one Saturday evening Mass each month, and filling in as needed.

After School Child Care Position


Holy Spirit Catholic School, Brighton, MI is seeking an energetic individual for the position of Lead Child Caregiver of our afterschool care program.

Qualifications for Lead Caregiver applicants include:
Practicing Catholic
High School Diploma and be at least 21 years of age
Experience working with children preschool to age 12

Good organization and communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with children, parents and colleagues.
At least 2 semester hours in child care or a minimum of 3.0 CEU's (Continuing Education Units) in child care
Current certification in infant, child, and adult CPR, first aid and blood borne pathogen training.

Director of Child Care

The parish of St. Joseph, Owosso, is seeking an energetic individual for the position of Director of Child Care Services.  The qualified director will:

(a)  be a practicing Catholic.
(b)  be at least 21 years of age
(c)  have earned a high school diploma GED
(d)  have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a child-related field, 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development, and 480 hours of experience.
(e)  have at least 2 semester hours in child care administration or a minimum of 3.0 CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) in child care administration.
(f)  have current certification in infant, child, and adult CPR, first aid and blood  borne pathogen training.
(g)  possess knowledge of child development, curriculum, child discipline, health/safety, nutrition, licensing rules for child care centers.
(h)  administer day-to-day operations including being available to address parent, child, and staff issues.
(i)  monitor and evaluate staff.
(j)   have background in budget management.

Child Care Positions

St. John the Evangelist Catholic School in Fenton is currently seeking applicants for Lead Caregiver and Caregivers for St. John School Jets Club (before and after school care). 
Applicant qualifications include a High School Diploma and experience in working with children preschool to age 12.   An Associates Degree in Child Development (CDA) is preferred, but not required.  The applicant should possess good organization and communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with children, parents and colleagues.
