School Principal

St. Mary Catholic School, Williamston

            A principal in a school of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing is the leader of a community of administrators, faculty, staff, volunteers, parents, students, benefactors, and friends.  The principal is the close collaborator of the pastor or, if a regional school, with the pastors of the region.  The principal must be adept at developing and maintaining relationships with parents and others in order to form trusting partnerships that ultimately benefit the children of the school.  A principal is directly responsible for recruiting, selecting, forming, guiding, and evaluating teachers who (a) are committed to Catholic education, (b) enjoy working with and teaching children, (c) have a deep knowledge of the pertinent subject matter, (d) are familiar with various didactic approaches, (e) are skillful in classroom management, (f) are skilled in developing and implementing curriculum, lesson plans, and formative assessments, (g) can address parent and community concerns, (h) are persistent and creative, (i) effectively use data and technology, and (j) are collegial and collaborative.  A principal supervises students with love, strength, kindness, and wisdom.

            The desired candidate for the position in a school of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing is a practicing Catholic, actively involved in parish life.  The desired candidate holds an M.A. (or equivalent) in an educational field (educational leadership preferred), is currently certified (or readily certifiable) as a Michigan teacher, and is eligible for Michigan Administrative Certification.  The desired candidate has at least five years of teaching experience, can effectively serve as the instructional leader of the school, is capable of formulating and administering the curriculum, and can adroitly oversee the school’s co-curricular programming.

Full Time Physics Teacher

Marriage Preparation Coordinator

Director of Music

St Jude, DeWitt
 
The Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt, Michigan is seeking a full time (35-40 hour) Director of Music to join our collaborative staff.  We are an active, vibrant and growing parish community of 1350 households located just North of Lansing.  
 
Responsibilities include leading music for 3 weekend Masses, funerals, weddings and other special liturgies held throughout the year with our adult & hand bells choirs and a newly formed Praise Band.  Oversight is also needed for formation of cantors and parish music volunteers for funeral services as well as working with children to establish music for their special liturgies.  Skills with piano and organ are a necessity and any ability in other instrument(s) is welcome.

Bus Driver

Father Gabriel Richard is looking for a part-time bus driver that can shuttle runs for athletic teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drives a Father Gabriel Richard school bus, loading and unloading passengers at designated stops. Shuttles students to various locations for athletic contests in the evenings and weekends.  Insures safety and security of vehicle and passengers.  Performs routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.  Prepares and maintains records and reports. With the unexpected passing of the CSSW President, the Board of Directors for Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County, in partnership with the Bishop of the Diocese of Lansing, is searching for a new President to lead this non-profit organization, with an annual operating budget of $7.3M and endowment of $1.6M, as it provides sought after human services to many “clients” or service recipients by the dedicated team of employees and countless volunteers. Organist

Preschool Teacher Assistant

Faith Based Mental Health Therapist

The faith based mental health therapist will provide clinical service and needed related services for clients who are requesting Catholic-based counseling services. This position will be filled by a faithful Catholic who is fully qualified to provide outstanding clinical and related services, and who will, where appropriate, ground the interventions and desired outcomes in Catholic values, as expressed in Scripture, in the Catechism, and elsewhere in teachings of the Catholic Church.  The mental health therapist will work, where appropriate, in a consultative relationship with a deacon and/or spiritual director to include Catholic spirituality in treating the whole person.

Manage and maintain operation of classroom

Develop and implement weekly/monthly lesson plans and newsletters

Coordinate student activities with Preschool and Before and After school children

Knowledge of computer and licensing policies

Implement, plan and evaluate child assessments

Coordinate parent-teacher conferences/observations

Reports to Early Learning Center Director

Must meet health and medical guidelines- Criminal Background check, TB, Physical.

Attend or update CPR and First Aid

Must present 2 written references or names of 3 references that may be contacted to verify work history.

Log hours 16-24 hours with 3 in special needs

Required 30-40 hours/week

Musician-Liturgist

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Portage, Michigan

Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, a large parish located in Portage, Michigan, has a full time Musician-Liturgist job opening. Primary responsibilities include serving as the primary musician for weekend liturgies, as well as weddings and funerals and other liturgical event; conducting rehearsals for various musical and choir groups; serving as the primary liturgy planner working in collaboration with clergy;  and coordinating additional music groups for liturgies.  Qualified candidates will possess Bachelor's degree or higher in music or related field of study & have a degree or evidence of training on Catholic liturgy. Experience in parish music ministry which includes leading congregational singing, choral conducting, assisting voices, and proficiency on piano and organ. Must have ability to work with youth and adults who may be trained and untrained musicians. Organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Access, Power Point, and Publisher. Abilities to ability to develop instrumental and vocal parts, to operate sound and visual media are a plus, and to use Sibelius engraving software are all plusses.
